Welcome to St Peters Web Site
Welcome to the new St Peter’s website; this version has been installed at the start of 2008 to mark a new approach to our parish communications. However, at present the site is still in its infancy but lots more information and content is being developed, so please bear with us. St Peter’s is situated in the heart of the historic city of Gloucester and serves not only the immediate city centre area, but also some of the suburbs and surrounding countryside. Also as the ‘Mother Church’ of the area it often has had a role in the lives of many of the Catholics in our fair city.
The present parish is also the home to the Polish
Community who have a weekly Mass every Sunday and the Keralite Community from
southern India who have a Mass here on the 1st Sunday of every month.
The current parish team is lead by Fr. Bernard Massey (pictured here) and supported by Fr Frank Darius Cama, Deacons Tim Meadows & Colm Robinson, and our Parish Secretary Therese English. The parish is rightly proud of its heritage and the buildings that make up the parish complex. But its real treasure is to be found in the great ethnic and social diversity that is seen in the Church every weekend and in fact every day. On an average weekend well over 900 people will come in to the building for a variety of church services. This vibrant parish is always ready to welcome both the stranger who is passing by and wants to find out more about us, as well as the new parishioners who move into the area. A handbook of the range of parish services in the process of being compiled and will be available both on line; and as a hard copy from the back of the church.
